IT.

This is by far the most unexplainable movie I have ever watched, considering the fact that I barely watch tv/movies. Any who, the movie was old school, it was made long ago but heck did it scare me! I have a passionate hate towards clowns now. Clowns with helium balloons to be exact. I think it was first a book but I haven't read it yet. Even though it's unexplainable, it was still pretty good. That is exactly why I am going to do a review on it.

When I watched this movie, I didn't watch it alone (thank god!) but then the next day I couldn't sleep. It was all good at first, like there was nothing to worry about until this little kid saw a clown in between the washing line and of course being the kid that she is, she walked towards it. GIRL, did your mum forget to tell you to not talk/approach strangers?! Clowns are strangers, especially if it appears out of nowhere amongst your washing. That kid deserved to die because I personally wouldn't approach that clown even if my life depended on it. Moving on, that kid eventually got eaten, it didn't really show what happened but they did say she disappeared. After all this, there were police and this dark-skinned guy comes and says "It's back." like what is that supposed to mean? IT? Oh yes, we totaaaaally know what or who 'IT' is.

So then it goes on from there, the kids all meet up. It's set in the year 1990 but they have scenes where they go back to the 60's. BOY WERE THERE LOTS OF POP UP SCENES! That clown, Pennywise it was. He appears everywhere, it's like he follows you. But it's only these 7 kids that could see him and the blood that pops out of his stupid helium balloons.

Now you see where my hate towards clowns and balloons come from. I found it scary and I'm 14. I like horror movies but the side-effect to it? I can't sleep the next day. The movie had a good story line but so much pop ups. I can't stand it. I felt like my heart was about to just de-attach. Just... THAT FACE. What. I can't even.

I'm over it now though, my current fear is pirahnas but that's a whole different story. So yes, that is my review on IT.

WATCH IT, I DARE YOU.

5 years ahead of time!?

I'm really not sure what I'm going to be doing when I finish school, which is in... Two years. I'm 14 years old at the moment, and I haven't decided what I want to do. This is bad. But I've got a few ideas such as; Going overseas to study as well as working at the same time. I'll be 19 in 5 years so... I think it would be the right time to get a job and whatnot. I don't plan on moving out of Bali permanently but when I'm overseas I'll visit during the holidays. Can't stay away from my parents for too long.

I would really like to go to University, but I think I'd have to show my parents that I deserve to go. I'm definitely going to be doing my best for the next 2 years. After high school ends, it's practically all up to me. I HAVE to do something in life, like I can't sit there doing nothing. I mean; Idle hands are the devils tools. Maybe I'll have something to do with music, or producing music. If not, maybe something to do with the law or business/management. I'm planning on deciding next year, because at this point I literally do not know. Fashion, maybe fashion. Ah, I don't know! :(

Maybe I'd also have a boyfriend by then? Hahaha, who knows. But it doesn't really matter to me right now whether I'll have a boyfriend or not. It'll come, eventually, I hope. So yes, hopefully next year I'll be able to plan my life a little better but for now I shall enjoy my life where it currently is. :)

Paper bags?

Yes, paper bags. I've always had straight hair and at a point I curled it... But before that I had 1 way to curl my hair, with no heat. How did I do so? We'll see.

Start off with damp hair. Why not wet? Because that will obviously soak the paper bags and you don't want that. Comb it before hand too, make sure it has no knots/tangles!

YOU NEED PAPER BAGS and scissors, reason being is because you'll need to strip the paper bags down vertically. Also cut the ends off, and then you're ready to begin rolling. Tie half your hair up too before doing any of this.

Steps:
  1. Take your paper bag and wrap it around your hair.
  2. Pull it down, and twist the hair around it until you have a v-like shape.
  3. While the hair is still wrapped in the paper, start rolling up your hair.
"Wrap, pull down, twist, secure, roll."

Easy right? I've tried it before, so you can trust me on this. It really works. Anyway, when the bottom section is finished, you take down the other half of your hair. Your rolls should be tighter this time because I personally think the curls at the top of your head should be tighter. Maybe your paper curls will look better towards the end, due to more practice but if you can't tie it in a knot, you can always twist it.

When you're done rolling all your hair you have a few options... You can either wait until your hair is fully dry and take out the paper, or f you're in a hurry then you can go ahead and take a blowdryer and on cool air- blow dry it. Or, go to sleep in them. They're not that bad to sleep in, comfortable enough.

The curl really depends on how long you leave it on there for, if you leave it on for a while your curls will turn out to be extremely curly. So when you feel like you've had enough, start taking out your paper.  Gently twist it off your hair, and you'll have a beautiful curl from a paper bag.  I personally think removing the paper bags is cool but I just get lazy. Make sure you run your fingers through your  hair just in case you have a piece of paper stuck in the back of your hair, you don't want your friends to see it... They'll think you're crazy!

Style accordingly with mousse or other hair products. :)

Sorry that I don't have any photos/footage because I did it a while ago, but I promise you the results will be just the same as using a curling iron! Hope this helped in a way.

Currently untitled.

OK so, I don't really know what to blog about. Surprisingly we were told to blog about absolutely anything... Now what am I going to do?

Lets just put a few different things in this post then, just because.

No seriously, I'm stuck. But I'm just going to blog about my eyeliner issues because its the first thing on my mind right now. I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND GOOD EYELINER that would fully belong to me. So recently during this one week off school event, I lost my LancĂ´me liquid eyeliner. Say what? Yes, I lost it... Or maybe I just misplaced it. I don't know, I'm still looking for it actually. Anyway, since I was obviously going to stay eyeliner-less for the next I don't know how many days/months/years, I decided to just go on a journey to find the perfect eyeliner. Wait no, I wasn't really eyeliner-less... I actually sort of just slapped on some Maybeline eyeliner that I found in my pencil case which was basically useless because, uh, you could barely see anything. After that, I went over to Beachwalk. BOY WAS THE TRAFFIC JUST HORRIBLE!? I mean look at that, I could barely get through Kuta. But HEY, I made it! Beachwalk was gigantic, it was amazing. This one shop was just full on makeup based (forgot the name, it was some high end brand though) and I found an eyeliner that fitted me quite well BUT my lovely mum decided to keep it. Once again, I was eyeliner-less. What did I do afterwards? Well the next day I just went over to Guardian and bought a Maybeline pencil eyeliner. Um... Are there any words for my hate towards Maybeline eyeliners!? NO. It was such a waste of money, even though it wasn't so pricy but still. Maybeline + Me = NO NEVER FOREVER EVER.

Any who, the next day was a miracle. I... FOUND THE BEST EYELINER IN THE WORLD. Its by Max Factor, just absolutely amazing. Sure it's makeup you get at drugstores but girl please... This stuff is the bomb. I eventually loved the brand so I decided to buy their mascara and whatnot.

And yes, I've switched to pencil. So long poopie Maybeline liquid/pencil eyeliners! I recommend this product to you girls who tend to live off Eyeliner, because its affordable and awesome. :)

Here's what it looks like.

I kind of got carried away by "ranting" about my eyeliner issue, but oh well...

Because of you.

The person that has inspired me the most would have to be my mum. We definitely have our ups and downs, but I’d usually take the positive side to it. It sucks sometimes, but at the end of the day we’re all happy again. If it wasn’t for her I don’t know what kind of person I’d be right now.

I think she’s an amazing person; I love her more than anyone in this whole wide world… Well, besides my daddy. I equally love them both! But I spend more time with my mum because she’s the one who stays home with me when daddy goes to work out of Bali. My mum has honestly been there through everything, she’s told me the do’s and don’ts in life. She keeps me grounded; I mean she prevents me from doing the things that I shouldn’t be doing. She still lets me hang out and sometimes attend parties, but she’ll set limits… Though normally she’d be blending in with the other pre-teens as well. I find it really cool that she does almost all the things that I do. I actually barely go anywhere alone. Yes, I’m 14 and I go everywhere with my mum. It’s not as bad as you think… She makes me feel safe, and I still panic when I lose her at the supermarket!

Well, yes. I know this isn’t that long but that’s all I’ve got, unfortunately. *sad face*
If you read this mum, I love you!

Shoes; An obsession.

Just my top 10 most favourite shoe brands to conclude my blog this week. :)

I've always had an obsession for shoes, I really don't know why but things tend to happen without a reason sometimes. Though I am gaining interest in bags and a lot of other things recently yet it still won't beat my love for shoes. I actually have a lot more favourite brands, but there's just too much that I can't list them all. Silly me.

- Reasons why they’re my top 10 favourite shoe brands. -

Guess: They’ve definitely got style, I suppose they’re kind of pricy but really it depends on which design you choose. But I can’t really complain about it because Guess is known as quite a pricy brand.

Jeffrey Campbell: JC’s has got to be my most favourite shoe brand, I consider them to be quite comfortable and that’s actually really good because they’re basically heels/platform. I could wear them all day/night and they wouldn’t hurt as bad as my other shoes. I definitely recommend!

Dr. Martens: What can I say? They’re awesome! You could wear them with jeans, a skirt, leggings, shorts, anything. I just love how they go with whatever you’re wearing. Comes in a variety of colours/designs as well!

Nike: Nikes are super comfy in terms of sneakers/sportswear. They’ve got that really cool Nike+ thing which connects to your iPhone/iPod and I find that pretty cool. Though the designs of their shoes are pretty stylish for sneakers.

Converse: All time favourite, it’s been around for a long time and the colours you can choose from, oh my god! Converse are fun to have.

Charles & Keith: The shoes they have are actually quite affordable in my opinion. They’re really worth it, I promise. I love them because the designs are classy, I usually buy the wedges though (love the wedges they have!).

Nine West: Nine West has shoes with such vibrant colours! It makes me want to buy everything, well not necessarily EVERYTHING but most of the items… Nine West attracts me the most between all the other brands, besides Jeffrey Campbell.

DC: DC’s takes up a percentage of my school shoes. I once bought them especially for school, but then the black shoes rule got stricter so… I mostly use them on the weekends nowadays. But they’ve got cool designs.

Havaianas: Offers a variety of nice sandals, they don’t break easily and they usually last a long time. Well, they last a while with me… Depends on how the person treats their shoes really.

Rotelli: The boots, the heels, everything. Pricy but they’re up to date with fashion, so it’s all good. The boots are actually really nice, but I don’t really know where I’d wear boots here therefore I don’t usually buy boots.

Work you say?

So... Below this post, I wrote about how I felt about Work Experience. Now I'm about to write what literally happened. All happened at the New Kuta Condotel in Pecatu.

The name, I don't even know why it's called 'New Kuta' because I personally don't think it would EVER be the New Kuta. Then again, that's just my opinion of the namel itself, but the environment is good. No hate.

First of all, let's say I was complaining for the first three days of work. Why? Because it was simply boring. I had to sit there translating 150 slides from English to Indonesian. Not to mention the language was super complex. I haven't even heard of some of the words on the slides before. But at least I wasn't alone, Jen was there going through the pain of being bored with me.

It was really hard for us both to just sit down until the day was over, but thank god we had a chance to spend some time in other departments too such as F and B (Food and Beverage), Housekeeping, Sales and Accounting, etc. So it wasn't as bad after a while.

We (Jen and I) were based in the Human Resources department, basically we went through all the data of the employees, and supplying all their needs. We were supervised by one of the coolest supervisors ever, her name was Ms. Devy and she was surprisingly afraid of FLIES. OK... Like that's totally normal. I'm pretty sure they're harmless, but not the most hygienic insects around.

There was a man who looked like the Indonesian version of Mr. Mark, I didn't ask for his name though but Jen and I were amazed. No joke, he had Mr. Mark's height, face, hair (in black) and he smiled like Mr. Mark too. Ah, I should have taken a photo!

That was one of the highlights of my work experience, along with the finger scanner to record attendance. It was awesome! At a point, it didn't recognize Jen's finger, it didn't even give Jen's finger a chance to be scanned. Also my sort-of near death experience, but it was hilarious. So one day we were finished with work and we decided to take the elevator just because, and I noticed this boy who was on his way down the stairs, and then Jen and I went in the lift to go down, when the doors opened again, the boy was gradually making his way on the next few steps down. I didn't realize that we were on the next floor already and I told Jen, "We're on the wrong floor!" and Jen replied "No we're not, come on, we're on the right floor." it was like dejavu to me, so I slowly made my way out... But I guess I was too slow so I got squashed by the elevator doors. Apparently I scared Jen into laughter.

Anyway... That was one heck of an experience. Though I don't think that's something I would be doing in the future, unfortunately.  As much as I loved it, it's not really my thing but the next time I stay in a hotel, I'll never look at it the same way anymore, after knowing how much hard work all the departments put in it, its not that easy. I have a whole new perspective on hotels now!

2 days to go.

So... Work experience is coming up this Monday!
What to say, what to say? I'm pretty excited actually. I seriously don't know what to say, but I'm definitely up for it but a little part of me is really, REALLY nervous.
Like, what if I trip and fall? Or you know, all these negative things that can happen in this world.
But its all going to be part of MY personal experience, so if I do end up falling... I guess I'll just have to laugh it off with a few friends. :)

SO EXCITED!

Vacation : What really happened.

Hm, what is there to say about it? I literally did not go anywhere. Well, I did, but only the usual places. 75% of my holidays were taken over by movies, the Sims and casual get-togethers.

The highlight of my holiday would probably have been my oma's birthday and when my best friend Anna, came over to visit.

Anna and I got our belly’s pierced, which was quite an experience because it hurt more than it did when I got it the first time, a lot of blood involved too. Thank the lord the process of getting mine re-pierced wasn’t as bad as Anna’s. It was the worst feeling in the word watching Anna get hers pierced, the piercer was pulling the newly pierced skin, and blood was everywhere, not to mention that Anna was screaming in pain and that she had to get it pierced twice. Not saying that this specific pain that my dearest friend had to go through will happen to everyone, but you never know. I cried though, legit. But surprisingly, we went swimming the next day. Risky... But you only live once! Painful yet a fun week, sadly she had to go back to the Philippines. I guess good things do come to an end. (I apologise for writing this 'gruesome' paragraph!)

This was taken at 2 in the morning, ignore the panda eyes.
Moving on…

My oma's 63rd birthday party! It was fun, in a strange kind of way. A gypsy attire was involved, but I kind of messed my wardrobe up and I ended going with a dress and a pair of flats. But there was a DJ and a lot of other things you would not expect to have happened at a 63 year olds birthday party, also a cake with 2 awesome candles! Apparently, if the party didn’t have a DJ, she felt like an old grandmother who knits all day in her living room. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against grandmothers knitting.

Old mama's.

The cake.

Grandma with her Tumpeng. It's a cone-shaped rice dish like mountain with its side dishes (vegetables and meat)

One of the upsides of living in a hot, humid, tropical country is the fact it's always sunny. It's a sort of  a permanent summer, reallySo visiting the beaches, being all tourist-y was fun, especially in the hot, hot sun. Awesome rhyme right there.

Waterbom was great fun too, also the beach club in Dreamland, known as 'Klapa' was a regular destination. Its nice but don't expect anything too fancy, it's not California, but it's clean and breezy.
A nice place to just chill and have fun with friends.

Yes, those were basically the best part of my holidays. Other than that it was out for lunch/dinner, play the Sims, watch a movie/tv series, dance. I was such a lazy-bum this holiday, but oh well. It wasn’t a bad ‘summer’ after all.

Though I feel like I had the most boring holiday ever, compared to everyone else in this class.
